The world-renowned British rock star and musician Sting will be in Istanbul once again as part of his Back To Bass Tour. Following the success of Sting's 2011 – 2012 world tour, the Back to Bass tour returns to Europe. On November 26, 2012, Sting will perform at the Atakoy Athletizm Arena in Istanbul, Tickets are available at Biletix www.biletix.com/etkinlik/NLST1/ISTANBUL/en
Sting last came to Turkey in 2006 to perform for 15,000 fans at Kuruçeşme Arena. This time he will appear at Ataköy Athletizm Arena in Istanbul joined by a 5-piece band made up of Dominic Miller on guitar,
The Arena, in the Ataköy/Bakırköy section of Istanbul 14 km (9 miles) west of Sultanahmet, and a few kilometers (as the bird flies) east of Atatürk International Airport, holds nearly 6000 spectator seats.
Many fans may be coming from other parts of Turkey, and other countries, to attend the concert, so you should be sure to reserve your hotel room(s) well in advance for November 26th, and perhaps one or two days on either side of that date.
You can also combine your concert visit with a tour to the highlights of Istanbul. Denizhan will be available in Istanbul after November 27th. You can also do a day trip to Ephesus from Istanbul.
Sting also performed a concert at the Grand Theater of Ephesus in on July 02 1993. After the fans attending the Sting concert caused a great deal of damage and destruction, it was decided not to permit such concerts being held there any more. Sting`s first visit to Turkey was to Izmir in 1976 while was working on board SS Orina. The singer entertained passengers onboard the SS Oriana in his pre-Police days as a member of the Ronnie Pearson Trio during the summer of 1976.

Turkish Airlines Magazine Skylife November issue mentions about last James Bond Movie Skyfall:
Moonlight On The Bosphorus
The James Bond films are 50 years old this year, and Turkey is 007’s travel venue for the third time.
In 1962 when part of the first Bond film, Dr. No, was shot in Jamaica. Not a single tour operator at the time ever think that the small English island would be swamped by tourists on the 007 trail. But the whole world would love watching the James Bond films, and the places where their scenes were shot soon became into touristic magnets. The same thing is going to happen again this fall with the new James Bond film, Skyfall, most of which was shot in Turkey.
From March to May of this year, an approximately 500-member team was in Adana, on Fethiye beach, in Istanbul and on the Baghdad Express that passes close to Vardar Bridge on the Adana border for the film, which is chock full of exciting scenes. They staged a fight scene on a moving train, and car and motorcycle chase scenes across rooftops and in the narrow lanes of the Grand Bazaar. Not only that but Kiremit (Tile) Street in the Istanbul district of Balat is also the backdrop for a scene in the film.
Daniel Craig must have felt quite contented in Istanbul because he brought his actor wife Rachel Weisz over to spend a free weekend with him in the city. Whether or not the couple will take part in the Turkey premiere in Istanbul remains an unknown. But when the tours that are currently in the preparatory stage get under way, visitors will be able travel to Turkey in the footsteps of 007.
Other James Bond movies that scened Istanbul:
The World Is Not Enough (1999)
Although Pierce Brosnan and Sophie Marceau
act as if they are in Istanbul in this 1999 Bond film, the scenes were actually
created from footage shot by a small camera crew on the Bosphorus without the
stars being there.
From RussIa WIth Love (1963)
When Sean Connery finds out he is going to Istanbul, he starts humming “Moonlight on the Bosphorus” to his boss M’s secretary, Miss Moneypenny. His mission takes him to the Grand Bazaar, to the Hagia Sophia, where his adversary dies without a peep, on a ferryboat ride on the Bosphorus, and to Pendik, where he is pursued by motorboats.
In Skyfall. Bond makes his first appearance coming out of the old Deutsche Orientbank building in Eminönü, not far from the Spice Market. Deutsche Orientbank was founded in 1906 to built the railways in the Ottoman empire and also to help the German inverstors for their inverstments in the Ottoman Empire. The Germania han, also known as Deutsche Orient Bank building was built by German architect August Jachmund, who also built the nearby Sirkeci Train Station, for the prime bank of German interest in Ottoman Turkey. It is a magnificent example of Art Nouveau in Istanbul. Unfortunately the building is abondoned after WW2. Today it is an empty but a marvelous looking building from the time of Orient Express like Pera Palace Hotel.

Hi, Melanie. Just wanted to share with you that our tour of "Priene, Miletus and Didyma" was fabulous! We highly recommend your tour.... and especially the extraordinary guide we had, Dennis.
For anyone who has been to Ephesus (or even not been), these 3 ancient ruins are wonderful to explore particularly because there aren't the massive crowds like at Ephesus and you get to see a bit of the Turkish countryside and coastal area that is beautiful.
Dennis was the perfect guide: a good amount of info but never too much to bore or be overwhelming, and he knew exactly where to go for us to still see the sights but never where the crowds where. At Priene (our favorite), we approached the tour differently than the bus groups did and so often times, we were the only ones in the area he took us to...great way to appreciate the scenery here and for photos!!
Please feel free to share this info with Julie and Barry and/or post it anywhere you'd like. We will highly recommend this tour!

On 31st Oct we took a tour to Ephesus. We arrived on Splendour of the Seas and we were greated at the port gates by our guide. From here we were taken to our van which was extremely comfortable and very safely driven. During our tour we visited the Temple of Artemis and Ephasus 3. The tour was packed with information and was set at a pace that suited us. We already plan to return next year and I will most certainly make a further reservation. Thank you for a fabulous day.
