How do you tour Ephesus? In most of our tours, we enter the archaeological park from the upper gate and start our walking tour of Ephesus by going down the hill. We leave the site through the lower gate. This tour lasts approximately 2.5 hours. But sometimes there are guests who do not want to spend 2.5 hours in the ancient city. We also give them a shorter tour option visiting only the highlights. In this case, we enter the site through the lower gate, and leave the site through the lower gate. In the short version, the guests see: the harbour road, the Grand theater, the library, the latrines, Hadrian's temple, the mosaics, the commercial agora and the luxury shops. Is there a dress code for Ephesus? There is no particular dress code for Ephesus. Like most walkable archaeological sites, we recommend wearing comfortable non-slip walking shoes, hats in summer (between May and October) and umbrellas in winter (between November and April). Umbrellas and bags are allowed. We also recommend having at least 1 bottle of water for visits between June and October. There are many vendors selling bottled water.
